After Donald Trump was elected president in 2016, Laura Villanueva joined the Women’s March in Chicago. While there, she caught sight of a banner that said “Lucy Gonzalez Parsons” and identified her as an organizer and labor leader from the turn of the 20th century. It led her to ask:
